WOW! That's Engineering!

Come and learn about the world of engineering in this exciting program that features professional women engineers, university professors, and students as role models.

Our Goal

While the demand for technology-savvy entrants in the workplace is growing three times faster than all other occupations, the percentage of women engineers in the workforce remains at approximately 11%. In an effort to change the current perspective of engineering and technology fields among girls, the Society of Women Engineers will celebrate WOW! That's Engineering!, honoring the achievements of women and girls as they develop and discover the future through technology.

About WOW! That's Engineering

WOW! That’s Engineering! is an award winning SWE-SCV program that gives high school girls (grades 9-12) the opportunity to tour the college of engineering, participate in round table discussions with professional women engineers, and gain advice from panel of university students. Women engineers and university students present interactive workshops with unique engineering topics to inspire creativity and educate on challenges in design, construction, and execution.

WOW! That's Engineering! also includes a parent track that allows parents to hear from women engineers and university professors on helping their daughter succeed at the university. The track includes university information, a parent panel, and other workshops aimed at educating parents on challenges and ways of aiding their daughter in math and science.
